(pictured), is still playing in Luxembourg some seven weeks after its release - quite a feat for a country that co-produces quite a few features but rarely makes national films.

Hot Hot Hot! is an English-language comedy drama set in the world of saunas. It stars British actor Rob Stanley (who could also be seen in several of Koltz’s shorts) as a meek, bald fortysomething employee who is transferred from his beloved aquarium section of an international leisure park to the Finnish-Turkish Delight area, filled with pools, saunas and baths.

The film, which deals with issues such as shyness and prudishness, body image and first love in middle age, co-stars British thespians Joanna Scanlan, Gary Cady and Amber Doyle.

The Samsa Film production had its international festival premiere at the Busan Film Festival last month. It was co-produced by Artemis Films Ltd. in Belgium and Amour Fou Filmproduktion in Austria and benefitted from support from the Luxembourg Film Fund, Bruxellimage and the Austrian Film Institute.

Also currently playing on Luxembourg screens is local documentary feature De Baureblues (The Farmer’s Blues) from director Julie Schroell, which examines developments in Luxembourg agriculture since 1950. It will start its third week in cinemas tomorrow (24 November).

In terms of co-productions, the violent French-language thriller Sleepless Night, from Frédéric Jardin and with Tomer Sisley and Joey Starr, is currently in its second week (co-produced by Paul Thiltges Distributions), while the English-language vibrator comedy Hysteria from director Tanya Wexler, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy will premiere next week. The latter is a Delux Productions co-production.
