, which received the international critics’ FIPRESCI prize at the recent Göteborg International Film Festival, has been selected for the Viewpoint section of the Tribeca Film Festival, which unspools in New York between April 17-28.

Entries constitute "a panorama of the freshest voices in independent film and contemporary documentary from around the world," this year in particular demonstrate “an interest in telling stories from distinctly male and female perspectives".

 fame.

Scripted by Noer, starring newcomers Oscar and Gustav Dyekjær Giese, with Nicholas Westwood Kidd, and produced by Tomas Radoor and Rene Ezra for Nordisk Film Production, the film is a gangster movie set in Northwest, an impoverished multi-ethnic area of Copenhagen.

Film follows 18-year-old Casper, living with his mother, younger brother and little sister, struggling to make ends meet by selling stolen goods. When organised crime hits the neighbourhood, his childhood playground becomes a battlefield of drugs, violence and prostitution.

Nordisk Film Biograf Distribution will release Northwest domestically on April 18; Danish international sales agency TrustNordisk handles international distribution and has so far signed contracts for the UK (through Arrow Films), France (BAC Films) and Benelux (Wild Bunch).
