Adapted by Vincent Garenq and Stéphane Cabel, with the participation of Denis Robert, from two books by the latter (L'Affaire des affaires – co-written with Yan Lindingre and Laurent Astier - and La boîte noire), the screenplay begins in 2001 when journalist Denis Robert (played by Gilles Lellouche) sparks a crisis in the financial world by exposing the opaque dealings of the banking company Clearstream. His quest for the truth to reveal "l'Affaire des affaires" will join that of judge Renaud Van Ruymbeke (played by Charles Berling), very committed to fighting corruption and in charge of the case on the Taiwanese frigates. Their paths will lead them to the heart of an incredible politico-financial conspiracy named “the Clearstream case”, which will shake the 5th Republic.

Produced by Christophe Rossignon and Philip Boëffard for Nord-Ouest Films (the partner of all of Vincent Garenq’s feature films), The Clearstream Affair benefits from a budget of 7.9 M€ including coproductions from the company from Luxembourg Samsa Films, Belgian company Artémis Productions, France 3 Cinéma, Mars Films (which will handle the French distribution) and Cool Industrie. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film is also notably funded by Cofinova, Sofitvciné, Manon, Cofimage, Eurimages, the Programme Media (Slate Funding), the CNC (development) and the fund from Luxembourg FONSPA. The nine weeks of filming, which will end on July 28th, took place between Paris, Belgium, Luxembourg and Taiwan with Renaud Chassaing handling cinematography. The international sales will be handled by Films Distribution.

Nord-Ouest Films currently handles the post-production of The Finishers (De toutes nos forces) by Nils Tavernier (article) and Now or Never by Serge Frydman (article), and will also begin in August the shooting of the first feature film by Thomas Cailley: Love at First Sight [+see also:
