Shooting for comedy Just a Little Chemistry kicked off on May 12. The film is to be shot in various locations across Barcelona, Sitges and the Costa Brava. This production by Mar Targarona and Joaquín Padró for Catalan Rodar y Rodar will be directed by Alfonso Albacete, who will be taking his first steps as a standalone director after collaborating with David Menkes for almost twenty years.

The cast of this reinvigorating film, which has been defined by its producer as an “elegant romantic, intelligent and involved comedy,” is headed by three young stars, Ana FernándezAlejo Sauras and Argentinian actor Rodrigo Guirao, together with Jose Coronado, María Esteve, Bibiana Fernández, Neus Asensi, Silvia Marsó and Rossy de Palma.

According to the production, the comedy will be coming back to Spain triumphant, and in this case Just a Little Chemistry “will not be afraid to pay tribute to British cinema and its sentimental stories with good actors, with undertones of screwball comedy and American indie cinema.” 

The story of Just a Little Chemistry, by Albacete himself together with Mireia Llinàs, revolves around Oli, who falls in love with a television and film star, Eric Soto, with whom she will live a wonderful love story. She will enter a world of glamour, success, fame and money. In the mean time, her best friend Carlos, a psychologist, will try and convince her that love does not exist and that it is only a chemical reaction, which is not real.
