Five feature-debut projects have been accepted during the fifth and final 2014 session of the CNC's advance on receipts first committee. Standing out among them is Paris Chic by Hamé and Ekoué, two of the main members of the rap group La Rumeur. The two musicians already turned heads when they directed a TV film (De l'encre) in 2011, and Hamé has the short film This Path Ahead under his belt. The latter title, which he made on his own, was unveiled in the Official Selection at the 2012 Cannes Festival and won the Best Cinematography Award at Clermont-Ferrand in 2013. The story of Paris Chic is being kept a closely guarded secret, but it will supposedly be set in the Pigalle neighbourhood, and rising star Reda Kateb and Slimane Dazi are said to have been approached for the cast. The project is being staged by Christophe Bruncher for Ici et Là Productions.

Another advance on receipts has been granted to La vie à deux by Dominique Baumard (who was in competition at Clermont-Ferrand in 2006 with Les silencieux and was selected for the Cinéfondation programme at Cannes in 2009 with Le contretemps). The feature, for which the screenplay was co-written by the director and Julien Guetta, will be produced by Jérôme Bleitrach for Bizibi Productions.

by Stéphanie di Giusto, which will be produced by Alain Attal for Les Productions du Trésor and will feature a story that recounts the misadventures of a young woman who travels to Paris from her home state of Texas. She goes on to be the inventor of the serpentine dance at the Folies Bergère cabaret music hall, and then becomes one of the most highly respected figures in 1920s Paris.

Lastly, the CNC will be backing the animated project La fameuse invasion des ours en Sicile by the famous Italian comic-book author Lorenzo Mattotti (staged by Prima Linea Productions) and the documentary Nothingwood [+see also:
