This time around, the director is trying her hand at a very loose adaptation of the famous stage play of the same name by Jules Romains, which was performed for the first time in 1923 and has already been adapted for the silver screen three times (in 1925, 1933 and 1951). Written by the director herself, the story unfolds in the 1950s as we follow lead character Knock, a reformed crook-turned-qualified doctor, who arrives in the small village of Saint-Maurice to implement a "method" with which he intends to strike it rich: he will have to persuade the inhabitants that the healthy are people who do not know they are sick, and in order to do this, he needs to find an illness (be it real or imaginary) that each person is suffering from. A proven master in the art of seduction and manipulation, Knock is on the cusp of achieving his goals, but he is caught off guard by two things that he had not anticipated: matters of the heart, and a shady figure from the past who has come back to blackmail him.

Produced by Olivier Delbosc for Curiosa Films and Marc Missonnier for Moana Films, Knock is being co-produced by France 2 Cinéma, France 3 Cinéma, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, Solo Films, Koro Koro and Mars Films (which will release the movie in French cinemas), in addition to having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS. The shoot will continue until 31 October in Paris, the Rhône-Alpes region (in Savoie and Drôme) and La Rochelle. Its international sales will be handled by TF1 Studio.
