Repeating Makridis’ affinity for nameless characters, the script this time focuses on the Lawyer, a well-maintained 45-year-old man who seeks to compensate for the joy of his wife emerging from a long-lasting coma by finding elaborate ways to invite what he misses most – the pity of others.

He resorts to lies, he intentionally loses his dog, he is antagonistic towards his clients’ mourning and destroys any happy moment that arrives, at first as part of a master plan, but gradually with more frivolity and naiveté, constantly slipping further into the maddening, joyless existence of a man who only feels happiness when he’s unhappy.

Starring Yannis Drakopoulos and featuring supporting performances by Evi SaoulidouNikos KarathanosNota Tsernjavski and Kostas Kotoulas, Makridis’ film has been lensed by short-film veteran DoP Konstantinos Koukoulios, marking his feature-length debut.

Having secured Eurimages support as well as funding from the Onassis FoundationERT SA, the Greek Film Centre, the Polish Film Institute, Foss SA and ORKA, Amanda Livanou and Christos V Konstantakopoulos will once again be producing Makridis’ film for Neda Films and Faliro House, respectively, while Klaudia Śmieja and Beata Rzeźniczek will be co-producing for Madants Films and Beben Films. The film's international sales agent will be announced during the Cannes Film Festival.
