Funeral Service for Buchholz in Berlin

- German film personalities join widow Myrian Bru and 700 mourners in Kaiser Wilhelm Church

His home city of Berlin said farewell to popular actor, Horst Buchholz, who died last week. The funeral service was held on Sunday 9 March in the central Kaiser Wilhelm Church on 9 March and around 700 people attended. The chief mourner was Buchholz’s widow, French actress Myriam Bru, who laid a single red rose on the coffin, she was joined by numerous German film personalities like actress Karin Baal, who co-starred opposite Buchholz in Die Halbstarken –The Hooligans, actor Günter Pfitzmann, singer Udo Lindenberg and film producer, Artur Brauner. Berliners were invited to sign four books of condolences inside the church, with a fifth opened in the Berlin Film Museum in Potsdam Square. The Federal State of Berlin was represented by Klaus Wowereit, the mayor of Berlin.
