), the story revolves around a rural doctor who, for a long time, has been practising in an area with poor healthcare coverage, and who now has to find a replacement to take over from him. In September last year, the filmmaker described the plot to Cineuropa as “following on from Hippocrates a little bit in terms of tone, teetering between drama and comedy, and still revolving around a singular group of people and rooted in a modern-day social problem”.

As was the case for Hippocrates, the movie is produced by Agnès Vallée and Emmanuel Barraux for 31 Juin Films. Irreplacable is benefiting from a co-production by France 2 Cinéma and backing from Canal+. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by Le Pacte
