The announcement sparked a fair amount of amazement and curiosity among professionals at the recent Cinè – Giornate Estive di Cinema in Riccione: box office champion director Gennaro Nunziante, without his usual partner in crime Checco Zalone for the first time, and young Italian chart-topping singer Fabio Rovazzi, together for a film, entitled Il Vegetale. Now we also have a release date: 18 January 2018. The announcement was made by Disney Italia: “Il Vegetale will be aimed at a broad and cross-cutting audience”, said the managing director of The Walt Disney Company Italia, Daniel Frigo, “I’m so pleased that our company is able to bring one of the most well-loved characters of recent years, Fabio Rovazzi, to the big screen, along with one of the most highly-esteemed directors and screenwriters in Italy”.
