Film London has announced the latest round of 12 filmmaking teams who have been shortlisted for the micro-budget Microwave filmmaking scheme. Six teams will go through to the next round before two films are finally commissioned in 2016. Supported by the BFI, BBC Films and Creative Skillset, the commissioned films will receive £100,000 of the total production budget of £150,000. This year’s applications exceeded Film London’s target of 50% of the teams applying having a writer, director or producer from a black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME) background.
