Nathalie Biancheri's third feature, Takes One to Know One, set to enter production in Italy this year

Italian director Nathalie Biancheri is now working on the pre-production of her third feature, titled Takes One to Know One. Biancheri's previous efforts, titled Wolf and Nocturnal [+see also:

Her new project, set to enter production in Italy later this year, is based on a 2022 Black List screenplay penned by WGA-nominated writer Brooke Baker (Pam & Tommy, Sideswiped). The plot follows Eleanor (played by Olivia Cooke) and Lucas (Jamie Bell). When the two meet in Rome, their chemistry is electric. With a shared passion for art, Italy and each other, it looks like the start of something life-changing. The biggest stumbling block: they are both in relationships with other people. The creative team describes the film as a "twist on the real-time getaway romance" as well as :a sexy, relatable love story that captures the spark of attraction between two people who accidentally find something they didn’t realise they were looking for."
Commenting on the project, Cooke said: “The script penned by Brooke is beautiful and delicious, and can only be elevated more by Natalie and Jamie’s immense talent and vision. To be working with this brilliant bunch is a dream.”
For Baker, “writing this movie for Olivia [Cooke] was an incredible experience” as he “immediately resonated with Nathalie [Biancheri]’s inspired and visionary take on the material.”
Meanwhile, Biancheri added: “I’m so excited to work with Olivia and Jamie on this project. The script is such a great combination of sexy, fun but also quite moving and I feel like it really hits a spot people are hungry for in cinema today.”
Takes One to Know One is being staged by Potboiler Productions (UK), BCDF Pictures (USA) and Chippy Tea (UK). It is produced by Gail Egan, Claude Dal Farra, Brian Keady and Cooke. Josh Glick, Brad Feinstein and Baker are serving as the executive producers.
Cornerstone is handling the feature’s international sales and distribution. The firm will be launching sales at the upcoming Marché du Film (14-22 May), co-repping the US rights with CAA Media Finance.
A release date is yet to be confirmed.
