(which competed in Venice in 2019, scooping the Volpi Cup for Best Actor), the filmmaker will be shooting in France for the very first time (as of August, in Normandy and the Hauts-de-France region) to delve into a romantic folktale recounting the story of one woman’s emancipation across a twenty-year period between 1919 and 1939, at a time of great inventions and even greater dreams. Standing tall in the cast are Juliette Jouan, Raphaël Thierry, Louis Garrel and Noémie Lvovsky, while music will come courtesy of Gabriel Yared.

Thrust full throttle into life, passion, acting and love, they will reach a turning point in their lives, and experience their first real tragedy, together. Shooting on this Ad Vitam Production and Ex Nihilo-steered movie will kick off on 31 May.
