20/12/2022 - The streaming giant’s first French- and English-language show will debut on 24 February and sees Emmy Award winner Stephen Hopkins at the helm

On 19 December, Apple TV+ announced the launch date for a brand-new, six-part thriller series titled Liaison. Directed by Emmy Award winner Stephen Hopkins (the series 24 and The Fugitive), the streaming giant’s first French- and English-language show will star César Award winner Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, the TV series Westworld) and BAFTA Award winner Eva Green (Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, Proxima [+see also:

The official press release describes Liaison as “a high-stakes, contemporary thriller exploring how the mistakes of our past have the potential to destroy our future, combining action with an unpredictable, multi-layered plot where espionage and political intrigue play out against a story of passionate and enduring love”. The project was created and penned by Virginie Brac (the TV series Cheyenne & Lola).

In addition to Cassel and Green, the main cast members include Peter Mullan (the TV series Ozark), Gerard Lanvin (the TV series Call My Agent!), Daniel Francis (the TV series Small Axe), Stanislas Merhar (The Black Book [+see also:

Liaison is being co-produced by Newen Studios-backed companies Ringside Studios (UK) and Leonis Productions (France), and executive-produced by Gub Neal, Jean-Benoît Gillig, Vincent Cassel, Sarada McDermott, Stephen Hopkins, Justin Thomson and Edward Barlow. The show will make its global debut with the first episode on 24 February 2023, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday until 31 March, on Apple TV+.
