Written by Dimitri Lucas and Amélie Bonnin, the story is a variation on that of her short film Bye Bye, as this time, the main character – who leaves her hometown to forge a bigger and better life for herself, and who must return home because of a family emergency – is a woman. An official mini-synopsis will be made public soon.

Produced by Robin Robles, Arthur Goisset and Bastien Daret for Topshot Films, and with Sylvie Pialat serving as executive co-producer for Les Films du Worso, Partir un jour is being co-produced by France 3 Cinéma. The feature, which has been pre-purchased by Canal+, has also secured support from the Grand Est region, the Eurometropole of Strasbourg, and the Indéfilms, Cinéaxe and Palatine Étoile Soficas. The shoot will take place from 3 June-17 July in Strasbourg, Colmar and Saint-Dizier. The French distribution and international sales will be overseen by Pathé.
