Written by Elbé, the script dives into 1940s France. Jean Chevalin and his family have been living in poverty since he deserted. With his many prejudices and convinced that “some” have it easier in this war, Chevalin persuades his wife to create a false jewish identity in order to benefit from the help of smugglers to access the free zone. From misunderstandings to revelations, having become a resistance fighter despite himself, he will go through a series of events that will deconstruct his prejudices one by one…

La bonne étoile is produced by Yann Zenou for Quad Cine and co-produced by France 3 Cinéma, ADNP and Père et Films. Pre-bought by France Télévisions, Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature also benefits from the support of the Grand Est region and the Vosges department, where almost the entirety of the shoot will take place until 26 July (with also one shoot day in Occitania) with Gilles Henry as director of photography. UGC has acquired international sales and French distribution rights.
