Anna and Nadyia are two seemingly different women who are actually incredibly similar. Anna is in conflict with herself and her family, and she’s battling illness alone; Nadyia is fleeing a war which keeps her far from home. Everyone advises Anna to accompany her partner on a work trip and Nadyia to stay in Italy where she’s safe. When they meet, albeit briefly, they’re plunged into a sea of freedom.

, the fourth feature by Italian director Ciro De Caro, which is having its world premiere in the Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival, taking place from 28 August to 7 September.

Taxi Monamour stars Rosa Palasciano, who previously turned heads in Giulia (which won her nominations for David di Donatello and Nastri d’Argento awards), and Ukrainian actress Yeva Sai (who’ll be playing a lead role in the fourth and fifth seasons of the hit series The Sea Beyond). The film is produced by Simone Isola and Giuseppe Lepore on behalf of Kimerafilm, in association with Michael Fantauzzi on behalf of MFF, in collaboration with RAI Cinema and Adler Entertainment, and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The film is sold internationally by True Colours will be distributed in Italian cinemas by Adler Entertainment.
