How much do we really know about ourselves when we make a decision? What if there were several versions of our egos inside of us, each of them having something different to say? Following the success of the series I Leoni di Sicilia on Disney+, Paolo Genovese is returning on set to film his new movie, FolleMente [+see also:

, based on a subject of his own devising and whose screenplay he wrote alongside Isabella Aguilar, Lucia Calamaro, Paolo Costella and Flaminia Gressi. Shooting is due to unfold over a 4-week period in Rome.

Produced by Raffaella Leone and Andrea Leone on behalf of Lotus Production - a Leone Film Group subsidiary which has already produced many of Paolo Genovese’s other titles - in league with RAI Cinema, FolleMente is “a brilliant romantic comedy which is far more than meets the eye and which delves into the minds of its two protagonists, Piero and Lara, revealing their innermost thoughts and the inner battles we all have to fight”.  The leading couple is played by Edoardo Leo (now on his third collaboration with the director after Tutta colpa di Freud and Perfect Strangers, and seen last year in The Order of Time [+see also:

Forming part of the film’s technical crew are the director’s two long-time collaborators: director of photography Fabrizio Lucci and editor Consuelo Catucci, who also signed their names to Genovese’s full list of hit films, including Perfect Strangers, The Place and Superheroes.

FolleMente will be hitting Italian cinemas on 20 February 2025 courtesy of 01 Distribution.
