Submissions are now open for the ninth edition of L'Atelier Milano Film Network 2023, a support fund for independent feature films in post-production whose finalists will be presented and awarded prizes in the second half of Milano Industry Days - MID by MFN on 22 November 2023, hosted by curators Alice Arecco and Alessandra Speciale.

The call is open until 20 October (with an early-bird price available until 13 October), welcoming feature films in the post-production phase presented by Italian production houses and Italian directors owning sole proprietor firms, as well as internationally co-produced films, provided that minority co-productions are helmed by an Italian director. The full rules and regulations can be downloaded here.

Thanks to a variety of collaborations and new partners, numerous prizes in kind and in cash will be awarded this year, namely: the First Milano Film Network Prize consisting of €5,000, awarded by the Milano Film Network; the LaserFilm Prize offering colour correction; the 196-Media Prize offering a theatrical 5.1 mix; editing tutoring from Carlotta Cristiani and Valentina Andreoli; sound editing tutoring from Daniela Bassani; audience design tutoring from Greta Nordio; and a DCP master from Start. What’s more, one of the shortlisted projects of L’Atelier MFN 2023 will be selected and presented in the This is IT line-up in January 2024, in collaboration with When East Meets West and the Trieste Film Festival.

The shortlisted films will be presented to an audience of Italian and international festival directors and programmers, distributors, buyers and commissioning editors, with a 30-minute screening of the working copy of each film, followed by a Q&A session with the directors and producers involved. These presentations will be followed by one-to-one meetings and a post-production awards ceremony organised by the Milano Film Network and its partners.

Since its foundation, L'Atelier MFN has promoted and supported countless Italian works in progress, by way of prizes in kind and in cash, including Pure Unknown [+lee también:
