The Marché du Film (from 13 to 21 May) at the 78th Cannes Film Festival holds strong promise for France TV distribution, the international sales arm of the French public broadcasting group, which is keen to capitalise on the selection of The Party's Over! by Antony Cordier for the Directors' Fortnight.
First seen in this same Cannes parallel section 20 years ago with Cold Showers [+lee también:

The cast includes Laurent Lafitte, Élodie Bouchez, Ramzy Bedia, Laure Calamy, Sami Outalbali, Noée Abita and Mahia Zrouki. The story centres on 25-year-old Mehdi, who plans to spend a quiet summer with his in-laws in the south of France. But as soon as he arrives, a conflict breaks out between his fiancée's family and the couple who look after the villa. Tempers flare... As Mehdi comes from a modest background, he thinks he can lead the negotiations between the two parties and bring everyone to their senses. But everything goes wrong... Produced by Cheyenne Fédération and co-produced by Umedia, The Party’s Over! will be released in French cinemas on 24 September by Tandem.
At the Marché du Film, the France TV distribution team led by Julia Schulte will also be negotiating for titles in post-production; The Price To Pay by Anthony Dechaux (article - with Ana Girardot, Olivier Gourmet and Julien Frison in the cast), Louise (The Girl Without A Name) by Nicolas Keitel (article - starring Diane Rouxel, Cécile de France and Salomé Dewaels), L'Étrangère (Pieces of A Foreign Life) by Gaya Jiji (article - starring Zar Amir Ebrahimi and Alexis Manenti), L'Affaire de l'esclave Furcy (Furcy) by Abd Al Malik (article - starring Makita Samba, Romain Duris, Vincent Macaigne and Ana Girardot) and the animated film Le Secret des Mésanges (The Songbirds' Secret) by Antoine Lanciaux (a Folimage and Les Armateurs co-production which will be screened at an event in June at the Annecy Festival and released in cinemas on 22 October by Gebeka Films).
