A few days ago, Spain’s ICAA (Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts), which reports to the country’s Ministry of Culture and Sports, launched a call (dubbed “Ten Promising Spanish Projects in Development”) to take part in an initiative intended to support film projects in development at the impending Marché du Film, which will take place on the website of the Cannes Film Festival on 25 June (click here to access the platform that will host the meetings). , a hybrid film produced by Inicia Films and set to be directed by Enric Ribes Reig. It has secured the support of the ICAA, TV3 and distributor BTeam, and it will be producer Valérie Delpierre who will be participating in the virtual meetings on 25 June. Another non-fiction film that will be presented to potential partners that day is the Spanish-Colombian movie The Daughter of the Volcano, the feature debut by filmmaker and journalist Jenifer de la Rosa, staged by Mayéutica Producciones (of which Amaya Izquierdo will be the representative), which has Icónica producciones, Rara Colectivo Audiovisual, Notikumi, Laboratorios Creativos Novaimagen and Elamedia on board as partners. The third doc in this programme is Tetuán, helmed by first-timer Iratxe Fresneda, with production duties entrusted to Pimpi & Nella Films, Marmoka films, Corpus Films and French firm Arena Films (with Gentzane Martínez speaking as a representative).

Among the rest of the Spanish projects that will be presented that day is a science-fiction flick (a co-production between France, Turkey and Spain) being prepared by acclaimed short filmmaker Chema García Ibarra: called The Sacred Spirit [+leggi anche:
