Belgian filmmaker Bouli Lanners is currently adapting Nature Humaine by French writer Serge Joncour, which won the Prix Femina in 2020.

This will be the first literary adaptation to come courtesy of a director who has thus far set his sights on original stories. The book provides an overview of France at the end of the 20th century, questioning the fluctuating and complex relationship between humankind and nature, and homing in on day-to-day farm life and the agricultural revolution.

As with his previous films, Lanners will be supported by Versus Production in Belgium, who are co-developing the film with Ad Vitam in France.
