Al via a Madrid la prima edizione di Iberseries Platino Industria

From this Monday, 27 September, until 1 October, the first edition of the Iberseries Platinum Industry festival will be taking place, aiming to become the largest Ibero-American audiovisual event. This year’s event will be attended by almost 1,500 professionals from the Ibero-American region and more than 200 media representatives. The festival is a joint initiative organised by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, seeking to increase the visibility of work set in or about Ibero-America, including feature films and fictional series, strengthening the talent of film-makers and encouraging international co-production. But it also aims to become a space for contact with the public, giving people a change to form part of this event, free of charge, which is supported by the City Hall and the Regional Government of Madrid, and which will be taking place in a number of locations including Matadero Madrid, Casa de América and the Capitol and Callao cinemas.
The event is structured into five main areas: firstly, the exhibition, consisting of two sections where visitors can enjoy project screenings. The first section, Chapter ONE, will include the world premieres of the series Búnker (Mexico), Código Implacable (Mexico), No nos quieren ver (Chile), Sequía (Spain/Portugal), Los prisioneros (Chile/Peru) y Si nos dejan (Mexico); as well as the second seasons of the Spanish productions Toy Boy and Perfect Life [+leggi anche:

Second Area: Activities PRO is a space for debate, reflection and exchange of ideas, based on eight themes: Funding and business models, Discussions with broadcasters and their studios, talks with the Industry, Creativity, Market Intelligence, Keynotes and Masterclass, Audiovisuals as an educational resources and Synergies between Tourism and Audiovisuals. There will be 60 conference sessions, given by 200 speakers from all over Ibero-America, including major figures such as Alejandro Amenábar, Leticia Dolera, Daniel Burman and Iván Escobar. In this are there will also be one-to-one meetings with ten large financial funds.
Third Area: IPI Pitch. For creators, the event is running independent presentation sessions for series and film projects, the purpose of which is to put audiovisual projects still under development, or already completed, in from of producers, purchasers, international sellers and broadcast platforms. 800 Ibero-American pieces were submitted, of which 69 have been shortlisted.
Fourth Area: IPI Lab, content laboratory, run by Joan Álvarez, offering seminars and workshops intended for showrunner training: of the 70 applications, 14 proposals have been selected to take part. The seminars will be given under the title El español viaja en series (“Spanish travels in series”) with experts from universities, audiovisual institutes, the industry and cultural diplomats all reflecting on the power of TV series to project the Spanish language outside the Ibero-American context, and on cultural exchange between y Hispanic-speaking countries.
Fifth Area: IPI Plaza is the section that will serve as a meeting place for the entire Ibero-American audiovisual, tourism and education sectors. There will be 40 stands in situ and a further 25 virtual stands, including the participation of the main production companies and distributors from Ibero-America, such as Televisa, Globo TV, RTVE, Latido Films, Film Factory Entertainment, the Ecam, the film commissions from the Canary Islands, Valencia, Madrid, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic.
