Four debut feature projects were selected during the fourth 2024 session of the first advance on receipts committee of the CNC.

Standing out amongst them is Authentiks by Marie Rosselet-Ruiz, a filmmaker who went through the Fémis Residence and already has six short films under her belt (including Les reines du mambo, Lothar 1999, Le ciel est clair). Starring in this debut feature, whose shoot should take place next spring, are Céleste Brunnquell (nominated for the Best Newcomer Césars in 2024 for No Love Lost [+leggi anche:

), the script centres on Audrey, a young woman from Lens who dreams of escaping her fate when she meets the Authentiks, a group of Ultra supporters. With them, she will discover the fervour of a new world and will progressively change her outlook on herself and her surroundings, in a way she never could have imagined… Production of the project (which went through the Angers Ateliers) is piloted by Margaux Juvénal for Take Shelter.

An advance on receipts will also go to Et après, the debut feature project as director by a well known figure of the film industry, Pierre Menahem. The former international salesman and festival programmer, as well as producer, has already gone behind the camera with the short films Robespierre (selected for the 2024 Unifrance Short Film prize) and Le feu du lac (official short film selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival). ), Et après’s script focuses on Mathieu who heads for the mountain during a night of insomnia. He walks as fast and as high as he can until exhaustion. The next day, Felix, a peasant, reports his disappearance to the police. Mathieu’s mother arrives in the valley to try and speed up the search, in vain. Felix remembers his first encounter with Mathieu, a few months prior – a story of love and sex from which no one will emerge unscathed… Production of the debut feature will be led by Mathile Delaunay for Barberousse Films.

The CNC advance on receipts will also support Mauvaise étoile by Yann Berlier and Lola Cambourieu (produced by Lucas Le Postec for L’heure d’été) and the documentary project Nos défaites ne prouvent rien by Tancrède Ramonet (produced by Temps noir).
