We like to think that this film is a comedy that aims to take an X-ray of our society. As one of the characters, a barman to be precise, says: ‘Nobody gets rich by working.’”
She goes on to say, “Most of society will never experience a life of luxury and excess. The powerful, on the other hand, have reached that life through a path that seems impossible to those of us who must work to pay the bills. But we all want happiness, rich and poor alike. And yes, money brings us closer to it. A stolen Caravaggio, people dying of hunger, a scam, cheating, drugs, music, power and guile. All of that is this film.”
Cada día nace un listo is produced by Atresmedia Cine, LaZona and Olarizu Films AIE in association with Lamia Producciones Audiovisuales. It features the participation of Atresmedia, EiTB and the Netflix platform, with funding from the ICAA and collaboration from the Community of Madrid and Madrid City Council. A Contracorriente Films will distribute the film in Spain.
