Written by Judith Godrèche and Tess Barthélemy, the screenplay centres on Annie Ernaux, who’s invited to sign her latest book in her childhood hometown, Rouen. While making her way to the city, she’s overcome with vertigo and finds herself plunged into memories of the summer of 1958 and her first night with a man, the shockwaves of which spread violently through her body and through the rest of her life...

Mémoire de fille is being produced by Carole Lambert for Windy Production and by Marc Missonnier for Moana Films, in co-production with France 2 Cinéma and Belgian company Umedia. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ OCS and France Télévisions, the feature also enjoys support from the Ile-de-France and Normandy regions. Having kicked off on 20 October, the shoot will wrap on 28 November, with Belgian Joachim Philippe (Imago [+leggi anche:

) as director of photography. The music will be composed by the French-American duo Faux Amis, while international sales are being handled by Paradise City Sales and French theatrical distribution will be overseen by Jour2Fête.

For the record, Windy Production have just finished shooting On était des loups by François Busnel (read our article) and is overseeing post-production on Species by Marion Le Corroller (article).
