Films hailing from Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, France and Ireland: launched in 2016 with the aim of forging a new bond between the works, their makers — often first-time feature directors — and a wide audience eager to discover fresh outlooks, the ArteKino Festival is back for its tenth edition, running from 1-31 December. On the menu are 12 films that viewers can access via arte.tv and on ARTE’s YouTube cinema channel. The programme is available free of charge in 32 countries.

by Spain’s Sara Gutiérrez Galve, Off the Beaten Track by Portugal’s Hugo Vieira da Silva, Maoussi by Denmark’s Charlotte Schiøler and Who if Not Us? by Ukraine’s Nicole Medvecka.

Two awards (worth €20,000 and €10,000, respectively) will be handed out : viewers can vote for the recipient of the European Audience Award, while the Young Jury Award will be handed out by 12 Europeans aged from 18-25. The ArteKino Festival is supported by Creative Europe - MEDIA, Chanel and Goossens.
