The TorinoFilmLab’s 14th Meeting Event announces its champions
- The four Production Awards went to projects from Finland, Israel, Iran and China, while the Eurimages Co-production Development Award was also handed out to a TFL film for the very first time
Headed for countries as far removed as Finland and China, the four production awards (totalling €170,000) associated with the TorinoFilmLab’s 14th Meeting Event have now been handed out, rounding off the annual calendar of activities organised by the Turin-based lab, which returned to a physical edition this year - between 29 November and 1 December - following last year’s online format, and which closed last night with an awards ceremony held at Turin’s Scuola Holden.
Out of the 10 FeatureLab projects in the pre-production phase, the international jury - composed of Rotterdam Film Festival director Vanja Kaluderčić, the director of the TFL film Natural Light [+see also:

Another production prize worth €50,000 was also awarded, thanks to support from the European Union’s Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programme, to Dayao Swims Against The Flow, which is written and directed by China’s Tao Zhang, co-written by France’s Jérémie Dubois and produced by Vincent Wang on behalf of French firm House of Fire. All four winning projects will also receive Green Filming Awards, which include a sustainability plan for the production phase and coverage of potential extra costs up to a maximum of €2,000, as well as a further €2,000 to spend on hiring a green manager, courtesy of the Trentino Film Commission.
Won by a TorinoFilmLab project for the very first time, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award (€20,000) went to The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands, which is written and directed by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén (Sweden/Costa Rica), whose first work Clara Sola [+see also:
