The Spanish agency Latido Films will start to manage the international (pre-)sales of Re-creation at the European Film Market  of the 74th Berlinale (15-25 February). A co-production between Ireland and Luxembourg by the companies Hell's Kitchen and Joli Rideau Media, it is directed and written by Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father and In America, among others) and David Merriman, and stars Vicky Krieps (seen last year in Ingeborg Bachmann – Journey into the Desert [+leggi anche:

) and Sheridan himself. The film, which is currently being shot, tells the story of a fictional trial where twelve jurors must decide whether journalist Ian Bailey is guilty of the murder of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan Du Plantier in 1996. Based on real events and through the discussions between these twelve people, the film reconstructs a case that invites the viewer to draw their own conclusions.

Another eagerly awaited title from the line-up of this Madrid-based company that is coming to Berlin is 8, the next film by Julio Medem, which marks the return of the director of iconic Spanish films such as The Red Squirrel and Lovers of the Arctic Circle and whose filming begins at the beginning of March. ), it tells the story of how Octavio and Adela were born on the same day: 14 April 1931, but in opposing families. Over the next 90 years their lives will intertwine, through intense encounters and misunderstandings, in eight episodes told in sequence shots. "A passionate love story between a brave and determined woman and a man facing his contradictions, with the history of Spain and Europe as a backdrop", states Latido Films.
