REMBRANDT'S J'ACCUSE
synopsis
Behind Rembrandt's masterpiece "The Night Watch" lies an intricate conspiracy. Peter Greenaway accompanies us in the discovery of numerous clues hidden in the canvas which reveal vendettas, corruption and power games. Like the condemnation in Zola's "J'accuse" (1890), the accusations have been accurately recorded, though here they are preserved in paint, creating an investigation where Rembrandt is detective, accuser, prosecutor and judge.
