Jeanne Labrune appointed president of ARP

by

The management structure of ARP (Association of Authors, Directors and Producers) has been given a makeover with the recent appointment of Jeanne Labrune as president. Previous presidents of the association include Claude Zidi (2005-2006), Pierre Jolivet (2003-2005) and Coline Serreau (2001-2003).

ARP, which belongs to the small group of French film industry representatives who re-negotiate on a regular basis the investment terms of television broadcasters in the pre-sales of films, also appointed Claude Berri as honorary president and Jean Marboeuf as its first vice president.

Other new appointments included Costa Gavras, Pierre-William Glenn, Gérard Krawczyk, François Margolin and Jean-Paul Salomé, while new board members include Christophe Barratier, Jean-Jacques Beineix, Claude Lelouch, Claude Miller and Bertrand Tavernier.

With experienced Managing Director Michel Gomez at its helm, ARP will undergo a small-scale revolution in the autumn, when its annual film meetings (see 2005 Special Report) – held in Beaune for the past 15 years – will this year take place in Dijon (October 26-29).

The operational organisational structure also got a makeover in mid-June with newly-appointed Development Manager Catherine Legave. Legave, whose previous experience includes positions with the Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC), the Ile de France region and the SRF (French film directors company), will be responsible for communication with other European director organisations.
