film profile] by Dimitri Karakatsanis presented in Critics’ Week at the Venice Film Festival (see Special report) will screen in the "World Premiere" section of the 37th International Film Festival in Rotterdam (January 23-February 3). Meanwhile, the 25th edition of CineMart, the Festival’s co-production market (January 25-31), has selected 39 film projects out of 550, including three projects by promising young Belgian directors.
La Parti Production, currently working on two productions (A Town Called Panic by Vincent Patar and Stéphane Aubier and Rituel de printemps (“Spring Ritual”) by Patrice Toye) will unveil Stéphane Vuillet’s Le Jour des enfants (“Children’s Day”). film profile], La Parti will also be accompanying the third film by Alex van Warmerdam that it is co-producing, De Laatste dagen van Emma Blank ("The Last Days of Emma Blank"), produced by Dutch company Graniet Film, who are also attending CineMart.

film profile] was selected in official competition at last year’s Rotterdam Festival (see news) returns to unveil her next film, 22nd of May produced by Eurydice Gysel, for his company CCCP.
Finally, Denis Delcampe of Need Productions and distribution company Lumière will present Vanja d’Alcantara’s Les Steppes (“The Steppes”).
After her self-produced debut documentary La troisième vie (“The Third Life”) and a short entitled Granitsa which attracted attention at the Locarno Film Festival, the young director’s bold debut feature is set during the Second World War and tells the story of a young woman’s exile, as she is deported to the depths of Siberia.
