The call for participants will close on August 30 for the second edition of Come eravamo (Italian for ‘how we were’), the first contest dedicated to the creation of films with archive images taking place in Bracciano (Rome) on September 12-14 (read the news story). The event will take place within the Il Gusto della Memoria (the taste of memory) festival.

Organised by the amateur association for safeguarding film memories, Come eravamo, Suricata production and cinema news website Cinemaitaliano.info, the competition is divided up into three sections: fiction – where shorts will be allowed to last up to 12 minutes; documentaries – where films will be allowed to last up to 30 minutes; advertising – where advertisements for current or vintage products will be allowed to last for up to 45 seconds. Participants will have to use at least 60% of their images from amateur film found on Nosarchives.com.

Among the festival’s guests will be Fiorenza Infascelli who will give out an award for the most poetic piece of art and director Gianni Amelio, whose presence has been scheduled for September 14.
