He is currently immersed in the production of his latest work, Amador, whose ten-week shoot began August 15 and will take place in Madrid, the director’s hometown and setting for his early works, and Barcelona. Written by León, the film centres on Marcela, a young immigrant with financial problems, and Amador, the elderly disabled man she takes care of when his family is away one summer.

Marcela is played by young Peruvian actress Magaly Solier, best known as the star of Peru-born, Spanish–based director Claudia Llosa’s two features, Madeinusa and The Milk of Sorrow (winner of the Golden Bear at the 2009 Berlinale). Veteran Galician actor Celso Bugallo plays Amador.

Amador’s technical team includes DoP Ramiro Civita, art director Llorenç Miquel, live sound manager Iván Marín, production manager Luis Fernández Lago, composer Lucio Godoy and editor Nacho Ruiz Capillas.
