Trust adds Troell to Berlin line-up

Copenhagen-based Trust Film Sales has just picked up world sales rights to Maria Larsson’s Everlasting Moments, the new feature film by world renowned Swedish filmmaker Jan Troell, set to start shooting in Sweden later this month.

The director of the Oscar nominated film The Emigrants is once again making an epic drama set in the early 1900s, this time based on a story he wrote with his wife Agneta Ulfsäter-Troell, which was adapted for the screen by Niklas Rådström.

The film tells the story of Maria, a young working-class mother of seven married to an alcoholic, whose life changes the moment she wins a camera in a lottery, and will star Mikael Persbrandt (Day and Night), Jesper Christensen (Manslaughter [+see also:

) and Maria Heiskanen (As White as in Snow).

Maria Larsson’s Everlasting Moments is being produced by Denmark’s Thomas Stenderup for Final Cut, in co-production with GötaFilm (Sweden), Motlys (Norway) and Blind Spot (Finland), Swedish broadcaster SVT, Swedish regional film funds Filmpool Nord and Film i Skåne, with support from the Swedish and Danish Film Institutes, the Finnish Film Foundation and Nordisk Film & TV Fund.

Other co-financiers include broadcasters DR, NRK, and YLE. Sandrew Metronome will release it in throughout Scandinavia.

Trust will start negotiations on the film in Berlin, along with the new projects by Lars von Trier (Antichrist) and Lone Scherfig (Danish title Hjemve).

Two Swedish films in its line-up will screen at the festival: When Darkness Falls, in the Panorama section, and the Guldbagge-winning Kids in Da Hood [+see also:

, in competition in Generation KPlus. Six other new titles, including the latest by Baltasar Kormákur and Nikolaj Arcel, will be shown in the market.

Trust will be represented by its CEO Maja Giese and its sales team, Natja Rosner, Sofie Nyholm and Thomas Mai, who recently re-joined the company after several years at the head of Katapult in Los Angeles.
