film profile] (665,000 viewers in 2007), Thierry Klifa started shooting yesterday in Paris on his third feature, the romantic thriller His Mother’s Eyes.
The cast includes Nicolas Duvauchelle (who has just enjoyed enormous success with TV drama Braquo), Catherine Deneuve (who has just finished shooting François Ozon’s Potiche), Géraldine Pailhas (Spy(ies) [+see also:

film profile]), Marina Foïs, Jean-Marc Barr, Hélène Fillières and Gilles Cohen.
Co-scripted by the director and his usual collaborator Christopher Thompson, the film centres on a writer (Duvauchelle), who enjoyed success at a young age but now finds himself short of inspiration. Having received an offer to write the unauthorised biographies of famous people, he infiltrates the life of a star TV journalist-presenter (Deneuve) and her daughter, a principal dancer (Pailhas), who are not on very good terms.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Bruno, who lives with his parents in Brittany, doesn’t yet know the consequences all this will have on his life.
Produced by Jean-Baptiste Dupont and Cyril Colbeau-Justin for LGM Cinéma, His Mother’s Eyes has co-production support from France 2 Cinéma and pre-sales from Canal + and Ciné Cinéma. The ten-week shoot will take place in Paris and Brittany.
Mars Distribution will release the film in French theatres and Other Angle Pictures will handle international sales.
Another production by LGM Cinéma, Bus Palladium (see news) by Thompson (co-scripted by Klifa), will be launched theatrically by StudioCanal on March 17.
